Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions, along with a signed client agreement, outline the scope of services and expectations when working with Rooted Mother.

All services begin with a consultation, where we will discuss your individual needs, preferences, and vision for support. During this time, I will outline my scope of care so you can make an informed decision about moving forward. If we choose to work together, a written contract will be reviewed and signed prior to the start of services.

Agreement of Services

Services are confirmed only after a consultation has taken place and a client agreement has been signed. This agreement will clearly define the services provided, fees, timelines, and expectations for both parties based on your individual care needs.

Scope of Practice

Rooted Mother provides non-medical support services including prenatal, birth, and postpartum doula care. As a doula, I do not perform clinical tasks, provide medical advice, or replace your licensed healthcare provider.

All medical care and decisions remain the responsibility of you and your chosen provider.

Client Responsibility

Clients agree to:

  • Remain under the care of a licensed healthcare provider (OB/GYN, midwife, primary etc.)

  • Communicate openly about needs, preferences, and any changes

  • Notify me in a timely manner when labor begins or support is needed

  • Make all personal and medical decisions independently

Payment & Fees

  • A non-refundable retainer fee is required to secure services and reserve your due date

  • Remaining balances must be paid according to the schedule outlined in your signed contract

  • Payment plans may be arranged if agreed upon in writing

Failure to complete payment as agreed may result in termination of services.

Cancellations & Refund Policy

  • The retainer fee is non-refundable

  • Any additional refunds will be determined based on services already provided, as outlined in your contract

  • All cancellation terms will be clearly stated in your signed agreement

On-Call Availability (Birth Clients)

For birth support, I will be on-call 24/7 during the agreed-upon timeframe (typically beginning at 37–38 weeks until birth). Clients agree to notify me as soon as labor begins.

If I am unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, a backup doula will be arranged whenever possible.

Limitation of Liability

By signing a contract and engaging services, you acknowledge that doula care is supportive in nature and does not replace medical care. Rooted Mother is not responsible for medical outcomes related to pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is respected at all times. All personal information will remain confidential unless disclosure is required by law.

Acknowledgment

By signing a client agreement after consultation, you acknowledge that you have reviewed, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
